Emerson EC366 (1940)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!
A ONE-DAY WONDER!

This compact Emerson table radio has an attractively designed wooden cabinet with grooved sides and a Bakelite retractable handle. Like other Emersons from this era, it has a nice golden dial and pointer. The five-tube chassis is an early version of the "All American Five" design, and performs spectacularly, with superb sensitivity and selectivity. With its built-in loop antenna, this radio is much less susceptible to noise than earlier radios using wire antennas. The 5-inch speaker sounds really good in this cabinet. Restoration included a strong set of tubes, all new capacitors, new resistors where needed, a full RF/IF alignment, and a new polarized power cord. I have vastly improved the safety of this radio by rewiring it to have a floating ground instead of an exposed hot chassis (why did Emerson ever think that was OK?). Knobs and dial cover are original; the back is a replacement. Lighted dial. Small and light, so shipping will be inexpensive. 10-2/3"W x 7-3/4"H x 6"D.
