THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD! |
In the eyes of many collectors, the Atwater Kent model 82 cathedral is one of the finest cathedral radios ever made. The cabinet, with its spiral twist columns, Zebrawood crest, and Gothic arch styling epitomizes the finest in cathedral radio design. This radio still has its original finish in remarkably good condition. The seven-tube chassis is an early superheterodyne with AVC, and sound quality is better than most early superhets. Sensitivity and selectivity are superb; the radio performs like new. Restoration included replacement of all capacitors and resistors, a full RF/IF alignment, a strong set of tubes, a new rubber roller for the tuner, and a new vintage-style cloth power cord and plug. Knobs are original; grill cloth has been replaced. The original speaker is in great shape. Lighted dial. 19"H x 16"W x 10"D. |
