Philco 48-475 AM/FM (1948)
(wood tube table radio w/FM)

Philco 48-475 AM/FM (1948)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

If you like 1940s "modern" styling, this Philco is for you! The sides of the mahogany cabinet are reminiscent of arm rests on a trendy 1940s davenport. The cabinet has been refinished for an overall very respectable appearance, with just a few hints of character marks from prior bumps and bruises. The attractive reverse painted glass dial is in perfect condition. Knobs and grille cloth are original. The eight-tube chassis has been fully restored, with all paper and electrolytic capacitors replaced, new resistors where needed, a new power transformer, a strong set of tubes, and a new power cord. This radio has gone through a full RF and IF alignment on both AM and FM, and plays like new on both bands. The missing AM loop antenna has been replaced with a newly fabricated one (visible from the back), which works perfectly. The AM pushbutton tuning works well. This is a radio you can enjoy both for its visual appeal and for daily listening. 19"W x 12"H x 11-1/2"D.
