RCA X600 (Canada-1950)
(Bakelite tube table radio)

RCA X600 (Canada-1950)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

RCA's Canadian subsidiary in Montreal, Quebec manufactured this Bakelite table radio in 1950. It is quite similar to, but not identical to the RCA (USA) model 9X561, but has an additional control on the left side for tone adjustment and to select between the radio and built-in phono jack (perfect for your iPod or other player). This radio has an 8-inch speaker with a very large magnet behind that big bold round grille, so sound quality is better than most other table radios of the time. The transparent, reverse-engraved dial is edge-lit from both ends, giving a nice visual effect when the radio is on. The six-tube chassis has an RF stage for extra sensitivity and works like new. Electrical restoration included replacement of all capacitors, a strong set of tubes, a new power cord, and a full RF and IF alignment. The Bakelite cabinet is in good shape, with some minor blemishes visible around the rim of the gold plastic speaker grille. 12-1/2"W x 9-1/2"H x 8-1/4"D.
