Zenith Royal 1000-D Trans-Oceanic (1958)
(plastic transistor portable radio w/SW)

Zenith Royal 1000-D Trans-Oceanic (1958)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

Do you find shortwave listening intriguing, but find it difficult to use the shortwave bands on most antique radios? This Zenith Trans-Oceanic is a beautifully engineered 9-band AM and shortwave all-transistor portable radio. With dedicated bands for 31, 25, 19, 16, and 13 meters, this radio makes tuning in shortwave broadcasts far easier than on radios that try to cover the full shortwave spectrum in just one or two bands. Quality construction is evident throughout, with an attractive and sturdy metal cabinet, hand wired metal chassis, socketed transistors, and plenty of adjustable coils and trimmers to allow precise alignment and dial calibration. All of the original accessories are in good condition, including original battery pack (with some corrosion, but fully functional), short wave log book, detachable "Wave Magnet" antenna, and telescoping whip antenna. There is some corrosion (fine blistering) on the top area of the cabinet, so this radio isn't cosmetically perfect, and the radio has been priced accordingly. Functionally, this radio is perfect, with new electrolytic capacitors, and a thorough alignment and precise dial calibration on all bands. 12-1/2"W x 10"H x 5"D.
