Zenith Y832 (1956)
(wood tube table radio)

Zenith Y832 (1956)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

This Zenith AM/FM table radio is an outstanding performer when it comes to sound quality. With an 8" woofer and two electrostatic tweeters, it puts most American-made table radios to shame with its deep bass and clear highs. The eight-tube chassis has been thoroughly restored for like-new performance, with excellent sensitivity on both FM and AM. Unlike many 1950's FM radios, this one has an AFC circuit to prevent tuning drift, which is a common issue on many earlier FM radios. All paper and electrolytic capacitors have been replaced, a strong set of tubes has been installed, and a precise sweep generator RF and IF alignment has been done for both AM and FM. The cabinet is not perfect, with a few scuffs and scratches here and there, but the blemishes are not very prominent, and this radio displays very well. The original phono input on the back works perfectly for connecting an iPod, CD player, or phonograph. 15-1/2"W x 10"H x 9"D.
