Here is a Pre-War Emerson radio in a beautiful Ingraham Clock Company cabinet that you do not see very often. Ingraham, of Bristol CT, was noted for their beautiful workmanship, and made cases for several radio companies, but mostly for Emerson. This is a very rare radio to find in this wonderful original condition with its inlaid wood and complex grain designs. There are a few marks on the 80 year old case, but in my opinion, it's really not a candidate for refinishing. The knobs are original and it has a perfect Retro Tronics back in its original design. This Emerson radio has been nicknamed the "Humpback" and also the "Pig Nose" due to the carved speaker bullseye grille. The electronics have been restored by a pro, and the radio is playing fine picking up my local AM stations, better with an extended antenna wire (enclosed). About 14"W x 9-1/2"H x 6"D. |
