THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD! |
A beautiful completely restored finish Emerson Retro radio from 1947. This radio was designed by Norman Bel Geddes, who was one of America's most prolific industrial designers of the 1930's and 1940's. He designed many table and console radios for both Emerson and Philco, as well as trains, planes and automobiles. This five-tube set has a great dial and curved top case. The wood is in excellent condition. The center round maroon dial has a brand new plastic dial cover, and the back has a perfect Retro-Tronics cover. The chassis has been completely checked, and everything that needed replacing was changed. The radio plays very well, picking up all my local AM stations clearly. I believe it would be hard to find a better example. Midget sized at about 10"W x 7"H x 5"D. |
