RCA 40X55 (1939)
RCA 40X55 (1939)
NEW!RCA made several radios in 1939 that utilized the exact same chassis. This model 40X55 shares the same chassis as the 40X53 La Siesta, the World's Fair model 40X56, and the Golden Gate Exposition model 40X57. The case and the dial glass are the same on all these 1939 models, the only differences being models 56 and 57 having molded fronts depicting Fair and Expo scenes, and the 53 having a painted front. This cute model 40X55 case has been completely refinished using multiple coats of lacquer, and the chassis has had a complete restoration replacing all out of tolerance tubes, resistors and capacitors. The radio picks up many stations clearly without any problem. It also has its original back and all original labels. The grille cloth, back, handle and knobs are 100% original to the radio. There are several great radio designs from 1939, and this is one of them. About 9"W x 7"H x 6"D.  $262.00. (1150838)
