Zenith 6-S-511 (1941)
(plastic tube table radio w/SW)

Zenith 6-S-511 (1941)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

A really nice example of this pre-War Zenith, before American radio production ceased for four years. With matters in Europe getting progressively worse, the American public's desire for news around the world grew. This model 6-S-511 has a short wave band as well as an AM band. It has a striking dial with countries marked all over the globe: France, England, Germany, Holland, South America, and New Zealand. It has a tortoise shell handle and a perfect reproduction back. There are three new "Z" knobs, five push buttons, and twin dial lamps. The case is in excellent condition with just a small short hairline where one of the chassis screws on the bottom was tightened too tight, and has been reinforced on the inside of the case, completely out of sight. The radio has been recapped and checked out completely and plays clearly. To be completely honest, this Zenith plays and tunes in stations all across the country better than any radio I have owned, and that includes a lot of radios! It also picks up some short wave stations at night. This is a very heavy set with its power transformer. About 13-1/2"W x 7-3/4"H x 7-1/2"D.
