Zenith 6-P-419 (1940)
(Bakelite tube table radio)

Zenith 6-P-419 (1940)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

This pre-War 1940 Zenith model 6P419 is a beautiful classic Art Deco Machine Age radio, with a one-of-a-kind design. This radio is part of Zenith Radio's innovative history, as it's a great example of Zenith's experiment into Bakelite chassis development. The radio has been completely restored; everything needing changing or replacing was done, and it is playing clearly, picking up all my local AM stations without any problems. The Bakelite ivory case is in perfectly restored condition with no cosmetic issues, and there were no repairs made to the case. There is an excellent article on the upside down chassis in John Bryant's Zenith anthology "The Glory Years." This is the only 6P419 I have ever seen on the Attic or anywhere for that matter, a hard radio to find especially undamaged and in working condition. This is a perfect set for any collector, Zenith or otherwise. For an excellent discussion of these unusual Zenith radios, click here to go to John Pelham's Radiophile web site. About 11"W x 6"H x 5"D.
