THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD! |
General Television Corporation of Chicago, IL, model 5A5 from 1947, in contrasting back Bakelite with an ivory plastic Tenite grill, trim and handle. Ads for the radio stated it was a six tubes, but it's an All American five-tube chassis. It has a striking gold foil dial and a red dial pointer. The case is in excellent condition with no cosmetic issues like cracks, hairlines or chips. The knobs are original, and there is a perfect replacement back on the case. The radio is playing clearly picking up all my local AM stations without any problems. General TV made these small sets in various color combinations. About 8-1/2"W x 6-1/2"H (to top of handle) x 5-1/2"D. |
