THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD! |
A super nice ivory Sparton Retro radio from 1950, nicknamed the "Football" radio for obvious reason. These cases were made out of plastic, and consequently most of the survivors show a lot of wear. But this 70 year old case is in really nice condition with no cracks, tube burns or major cosmetic issues. It does have its original back and original knobs with brass inserts. The chassis has been checked by a pro, and everything needing changing was replaced. The radio is playing clearly, picking up all my local AM stations. Sparton brand radios were produced by the Sparks-Withington Co. of Jackson Michigan. Sparton continued to produce radios and TVs until 1956, when some of its assets were sold to Magnavox. The size of the case is about 13"W x 6"H x 6"D. |
