THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD! |
This 1936 mini Emerson ivory Plaskon tombstone radio is one of the most collectible of all Emerson radios. The chassis has been checked by a professional, has been completely recapped, and a resistor added internally to step the voltage down so its original cord does not heat up anymore. The radio plays very well using a length of antenna wire. The dial light is working well also. This is a two-band radio, but the SW band is the old amateur/aviation band, so little to listen to. The band switch is in the rear. The case is in incredible condition for 80+ year old Plaskon material. There are no cracks, chips or hairline cracks, common to many of these Plaskon cases. The radio has its original complete back on the set in perfect condition also. A really nice example of this model, in this material, and a must for any collection. About 9-1/2"H x 7"W x 5"D. |
