Emerson 157 "Clockette" (1937)
(Plaskon tube clock radio)

Emerson 157 "Clockette" (1937)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

This is an excellent example of a very hard to find Emerson Art Deco mid-30's radio affectionately known as a "Clockette." The case is made up of three sections that fit together: an ivory Plaskon front, a black Bakelite middle, and a black Bakelite back. It also has its original black matching knobs. This case is in perfect, condition no cracks, hairline cracks or repairs. The original brass dial pointer and brass grille cloth are in place. The model number 157 is stamped into the back Bakelite piece. The radio still has its original 80+ year old resistance line cord in place and it excellent working condition. For the collector who relishes originality, this is truly a great radio find. The chassis has been complete checked by a professional, and everything needing replaced was done. The radio is playing clearly, picking up my local AM stations. You need to be aware that this chassis is a four-tube set, and you really need an external antenna to get a lot of distant reception. The dial light reflects through the red Emerson logo dot on the front when the radio is on. This Emerson is midget sized at about 7"W x 7"H x 5-1/2"D.
