THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD! |
This is a classic black dial pre-War Zenith in a beautiful professionally refinished solid walnut case, one of only a few Zenith cases reportedly made for Zenith by the Ingraham Cabinet Company, Bristol, CT. This was one of Zenith's last production runs before the company switched over to wartime operations. This case really looks fantastic, just like the day it came off the showroom floor. The radio has a unique design whereby tube heat is released through slats in the case, hence its nickname "Toaster." The radio is playing clearly, picking up all my local AM stations with no problems. The dial lamp also works fine. It has "Z" knobs, a "Z" dial pointer, and an excellent reinforced original back. This particular model also has it's beautiful original tortoiseshell handle. I have had several, but this is right at the top of the best. About 11-1/2"W x 7"H x 6-1/2"D. |
