THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD! |
1949 Bendix Aviation Corporation model 55P3 radio in a beautiful Bakelite swirled case. It has a striking maroon dial and a rust colored perforated grille with the Bendix logo on the front. The case has no cracks, chips or hairline cracks. This radio shows influences of a Raymond Loewy design with its smooth flowing lines and classic design. It's all original, has been recapped and is playing very clearly picking up all my local AM stations clearly, and distant stations at night. With all this beautiful Bakelite, it's hard to find this Bendix model without some type of cosmetic issue. But this Bakelite case is in super condition, and the best example I have seen in many years of collecting. The chassis loads from the bottom, and the complete label is still present. About 11-1/2"W x 7-1/2"H x 7"D. |
