GE produced many different radio models, but none as distinctive and stylish as the "Turbine" lineup from 1939. They were not only excellent radios, but these late 1930's sets had distinctive Art Deco cabinet designs unlike any other radios made then or since. Not very many were made in ivory Plaskon, and this one is in wonderful condition. It is playing fine, picking up all my local AM stations clearly. The dial lamp shines thru the white dial wheel when the radio is turned on, creating quite an unusual effect, especially in a dark room. This model came with a loop antenna and complete Plaskon back. The case is excellent, with no chips, cracks, or hairline cracks. All push buttons and knob are original. There is nearly a 100% label on the bottom. It's a very small radio at about 9"W x 5-1/2"H x 5"D. |
