THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD! |
This pre-War Philco Model PT-61 "Pagoda" or "Jewel Case" is one of most beautiful and unique radios ever designed. It was introduced late in 1939 for Philco's 1939/1940 model year. According to the original print advertising for the radio, the cabinet featured colorful veneers of "figured Aspen for the upper half, Birch for the curved base and rare Mexican Accra wood for the lower half." The chassis has been completely checked by a professional and the radio plays nicely, picking up all my local AM stations clearly. The dial light works fine, and the swirled original knobs add a nice touch to the radio. The case still has its original back and label on the bottom. A great one of a kind Philco. About 10"W x 6-1/2"H x 6"D. The bottom legs add about an inch on each side. |
