GE produced a lot of different radio models, but none as distinctive and stylish as the "turbine" lineup from 1939. They were not only a unique design, but these late 1930's sets had incredible brown and tan mottling in the Bakelite cabinets. This H-500 model is in excellent condition. It is playing fine, picking up all my local AM stations clearly. The dial lamp shines thru the white dial wheel when the radio is turned on, creating quite an unusual effect. This model came without a built-in loop antenna, so it uses an antenna wire. The case is excellent, with no chips, cracks, or hairline cracks. All knobs are original. It has a perfect brand new replacement back. It's a very small radio at about 9"W x 5-1/2"H x 5"D. |
