THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD! |
Beautiful pre-War 1941 General Electric model L-571 butterscotch eye candy. This beautiful GE is one of only two Catalin radios manufactured by General Electric. Catalin is the brand name for a thermosetting polymer popular in the 1930s and 1940s. This radio is in a beautiful near mint case without any cosmetic damage. As a plus, the radio has been checked by a professional, and is playing clearly picking up all my AM stations. However, I never recommend playing Catalin case radios for extended periods of time, as nothing good is going to happen in a warm case. Most of the original label is on the bottom, the knobs, dial and handle are original, and the case has a perfect Retro-Tronics replacement back. It has a beautiful lit up dial. The design of the radio has numerous Art Deco elements such as the louvered grille, semi-circle handle and fluted knobs. This great radio would make a great addition to any radio or Art Deco collection. 9-1/2"W x 6-1/4"H x 6"D. |
