THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD! |
The year 1939 produced some beautiful radio case designs, but none better than this Zenith 6-D-311 tabletop set, which is an icon of the Art Deco period. It was designed by Robert Budlong, one of Zenith's most prolific radio engineers. This beautiful completely original Bakelite set with its streamline shape was described as Franciscan Brown and originally sold for $14.95. The case is in really nice condition, with no cosmetic issues like chips, cracks or hairline cracks. It plays clearly with just a short antenna wire and picks up all my local AM stations, and some distant stations at night. The dial lamp works fine and the beautiful gold dial really lights up. It has a beautiful replacement back on the set. About 10-1/2"W x 6-1/2"H x 7"D.
