THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD! |
Pre-War Zenith AM/SW in beautiful undamaged condition. One of Zenith's last manufacturing runs before switching over to wartime production. The case has no chips, cracks, or cosmetic damage. This Art Deco look was drawn by Robert Budlong, a Zenith engineer who was responsible for many of Zenith's classic radio case designs. This radio is known by collectors as the "Beehive" or "Stack of Pancakes" radio for obvious reasons. It has an eye catching blue dial face with foreign countries marked. Three original knobs, on/off, band and tuning. The chassis is a strong performer with six tubes, and it has been recapped so it plays clearly. I was able to listen to all my local AM stations clearly, and some distant AM stations at night. The dial lamp works fine. Excellent replacement back from Retro-Tronics. About 12"W x 7"H x 6-1/2"D. |
