Post-War Emerson midget in a beautiful fire engine red professionally painted case. Super Christmas color! The case is in excellent cosmetic condition. No repairs were necessary as it was in perfect condition. The black midget knobs are original, and the case has its original back in excellent condition. The radio has been recapped, gone completely thru by a professional, and is playing great, picking up all my local AM stations clearly. Here is a description from a 1947 ad for the radio: "Emerson Radio Model 540. World's Smallest AC-DC Superheterodyne. Alnico 5 Permanent Magnetic Dynamic Speaker, Built-In Super Loop, Automatic Volume Control, Many Other Advance 'Big-Set' Features." This is a nice alternative to the red Plaskon set, usually damaged and/or priced through the roof! A super holiday gift! About 6-1/2"W x 4-3/4"H x 3-1/4"D. |
