THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD! |
1947 Bendix Aviation radio in a swirled burgundy and ivory Polystyrene case. This model 115 and the model 114 (in brown and tan) were often mistaken for being Catalin cases. This model shares the same design as the Bendix 526C Catalin version, an unusual design made of four pieces of Polystyrene fitted together. The radio was designed by James Franklin Glover, and is in beautiful original condition, really showing off the marbleized color. Many of these models' cases have cracks down the middle on top, which must have been some type of manufacturing flaw. The fragile Polystyrene sections and trim on this case are in perfect original condition with no cracks, chips, burns or repairs. The knobs and back are original, and there is a label on the bottom. The plastic dial is also in perfect condition. The radio has been gone over by a professional, and is playing very well with no filter hum at all. About 11"W x 7"H x 6-1/2"D. |
