Emerson 616-A w/Ingraham Cabinet (1949)
(wood tube table radio)

Emerson 616-A w/Ingraham Cabinet (1949)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

The beautiful refinished case of this Emerson radio was designed by Raymond Loewy, an important industrial designer of the 20th century, who designed many iconic products and corporate logos. This particular design was offered in either plastic or wood. The much rarer wood case version was manufactured by the Ingraham Clock Company of Bristol, CT, of book-matched American walnut with inlay. Ingraham was founded in the 1850's and became famous for their beautiful mantel clocks. Ingraham began manufacturing radio cases in the 1930's for several different radio manufacturers, but only Emerson specifically credited Ingraham. This 1949 case was very near the end of Ingraham cases made for Emerson. The chassis has been completely restored, everything changed out that needed changing, and the radio plays great, picking up all my local AM stations clearly. About 10"w x 7"H x 7"D. Free Shipping to anywhere in the USA.
