THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD! |
Airline was the store brand for radios sold by Montgomery Ward Department Stores. These radios were manufactured by different companies, many by Wells-Gardner. The brown Bakelite cabinet on this 1937/1938 radio is in perfect condition, no cracks, chips breaks or hairlines. It's a five-tube AM radio with a power transformer and a sixth green eye tube, which is bright, strong and brand new. I don't believe the grille cloth is original but it looks good. The set has a new cord and new dial pointer. It plays well, picking up my local AM stations without any filter hum, but better with its antenna wire extended. With its power transformer, this is a heavy radio. Beautiful lit up dial. About 13"W x 8"H x 7"D. |
