General Electric F-51 (1938)
(Bakelite tube table radio w/SW)

General Electric F-51 (1938)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

This pre-War GE is a beautiful imposing piece of Bakelite from 1938. All these late 1930's GE radios were manufactured out of beautiful swirled Bakelite. This radio was produced when rumors of wars were swirling in Europe, hence there were both AM and SW bands so people could get the latest news from overseas. The radio has a power transformer in its chassis, making a very substantial set. The radio has been checked by a pro and is playing fine, tuning in my local AM stations, but reception on both the AM and SW bands is improved with a long antenna wire (included). The case is in excellent condition, there are no cosmetic issues, and has a full and complete Bakelite back. Beautiful lit dial, and the grille cloth and bullet knobs are also original. There is also an original label on the bottom. Priced at $30 in its first year of sale. About 13"W x 9"H x 8"D.
