THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD! |
This post-War model was the last Catalin radio produced by Emerson. The design has been attributed to Raymond Loewy, one of America's greatest industrial designers. This radio has been called by many as the "poor man's Catalin." But finding one in pristine condition isn't an easy task. The cases came in brown Catalin and black Catalin. Many of the cases suffered from hairline cracks on the front grille, and also many plastic backs have breaks at the screw holes from case shrinkage. This case in really in perfect condition, with beautiful orange and brown swirling in the Catalin. There are no cosmetic issues. And the plastic back is also in perfect condition. It has been checked by the best in the business, and is playing perfectly. A very affordable Catalin radio, originally priced in 1946 at $37.85. About 11"W x 8"H x 6"D (at base). The radio pictured in the printed ad is a model 502. |
