THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD! |
The design of this Emerson radio has been attributed to the famous industrial designer Raymond Loewy, who also designed the original Coca-Cola bottle. This model 517 in black Bakelite is identical to the Emerson model 511. The case is in practically mint condition, just a rub or two. Doesn't even have that little notorious hairline crack on the front edge that almost all these radios have. The plastic dial cover floats over the metal grille. The dial lamp is hidden in the small plastic piece at the top, and is very dramatic when the set is on. All 100% original knobs & all. The radio has been recapped, and is playing well, picking up all my local AM stations clearly. About 10-1/2"W x 7-1/2"H x 6"D. |
