Philco 49-503 "Flying Wedge" (1949)
(plastic tube table radio)

Philco 49-503 "Flying Wedge" (1949)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

A great Retro Philco Transitone radio from 1949 known to collectors as the "Flying Wedge" for obvious reasons. This black polystyrene case is harder to find than normal brown, and is in very good condition, with no cracks or hairline cracks, just a few rubs and scratches. A nice contrast between the black case & ivory grille. The radio has been gone over by a pro, and is playing strongly, picking up all my local AM stations. It has a new Retro-Tronics back in place, and its original label on the bottom. The knobs are also original. It has a really beautiful lit up dial. About 11"W x 6"H x 6-1/2"D.
