(plastic tube table radio)

Emerson 540 Midget (1947)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

Post-War Emerson midget in a beautiful fire engine red professionally painted case. Super Christmas color! The case is in excellent cosmetic condition. No repairs were made. The black midget knobs are original, as well as the back. The radio has been recapped & is playing fine, better with a little antenna wire added. Here is a description from a 1947 ad for the radio: "Emerson Radio Model 540. World's Smallest AC-DC Superheterodyne. Alnico 5 Permanent Magnetic Dynamic Speaker, Built-In Super Loop, Automatic Volume Control, Many Other Advance 'Big-Set' Features." This is a nice alternative to the red Plaskon set, usually damaged and/or priced very high. 6-1/2"W x 4-3/4"H x 3-1/4"D.
