(plastic tube table radio)

Emerson 540 (1947)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

This highly collectible midget Emerson is in perfect condition. There are no cracks, chips, or hairline cracks. These cases were very fragile, hence few have survived. It even has 100% of its original back, and its original black bullet knobs. The radio has been recapped & is playing fine, better with some antenna wire added. Here is a description from a 1947 ad for the radio: "Emerson radio model 540. World's smallest AC-DC superheterodyne... Alnico 5 permanent magnetic dynamic speaker, built-in super loop, automatic volume control, many other advance 'big-set' features. Choice of four colors-walnut/ivory/red and green." 6-1/2"W x 4-3/4"H x 3-1/4"D.
