THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD! |
This 1942 Zenith is one of the classic pre-War Zenith designs before the company switched over to military production. This case was designed by Robert Davol Budlong, Zenith's most prolific designer. This Budlong design is known to current generations as the "Darth Vader radio." An undamaged original ivory painted Bakelite case. No cracks, chips or hairline cracks, and no repairs. Just a few paint chips and one scratch. Nice original contrasting black knobs give this set instant appeal. This six-tube chassis has been checked, and the set plays very well picking up all my local AM stations during the day, and many distant stations at night with an internal loop antenna. The radio has a nice Retro-Tronics replacement back. About 11"W x 7-1/2"H x 6-1/2"D. |
