THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD! |
Pre-War Zenith in beautiful undamaged condition. One of Zenith's last production runs before switching to wartime production. The case has no chips, cracks, or hairline cracks. This Deco set was designed by Robert Budlong, a Zenith designer who was responsible for many of Zenith's classic radio case designs. Known by collectors as the "Beehive" or "Stack of Pancakes" radio. This is a black Bakelite case that has been professionally repainted in beautiful black automotive lacquer. Eye catching blue dial face with foreign countries marked. Three original knobs, on/off, band and tuning. The chassis is a strong performer with six tubes, and it has been recapped so no annoying filter hum. I was able to listen to all my local stations clearly, and some distant stations at night. Excellent replacement back from Retro-Tronics. About 12"W x 7"H x 6-1/2"D. |
