THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD! |
Pre-War Zenith in beautiful undamaged condition. The case has no chips, cracks, hairlines or repairs of any kind. This Deco set was designed by Robert Budlong, a Zenith designer who was responsible for many of Zenith's classic radio case designs. Known by collectors as the "Beehive" or "Pancake" radio. Beautiful blue dial face with foreign countries marked. Three original knobs, on/off, band and tuning. The chassis is a very strong performer with six tubes, and it has been recapped so no annoying filter hum. I was able to listen to all my local stations clearly, and some distant stations at night. I was also able to tune in some stations on the short wave band, but you really need an antenna wire for S/W reception. Excellent replacement back from Retro-Tronics. About 12"W x 7"H x 6-1/2"D. |
