THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD! |
The design of this Emerson 544 and dial has been attributed to the famous industrial designer Norman Bel Geddes, whose primary focus was on aerodynamics. The finish on the original cases of this model was a woodgrain photo finish. You will see many of these radios that have been refinished due to the terrible condition of the photo finish. The finish you see on this case is the untouched original photo finish. And it looks very nice. The radio has the original knobs, and a replacement back. The radio has been recapped and is playing well, picking up all my local AM stations. A perfect example of one of America's great post-War designers. About 11"W x 8"H x 5-1/2"D. |
