GE produced a lot of radio models, but none as distinctive and stylish as the "turbine" lineup from 1939. They were not only a great design, but these late 1930's sets had incredible brown and tan mottling in the cabinets. This model is in excellent condition. It's been recapped and is playing OK, picking up all my local AM stations. The H-501 model came without a built-in loop antenna, so it used an antenna wire. Reception is best when this wire is attached to an external antenna. The case is excellent, with no chips, cracks, or hairline cracks. All knobs are original. I have the original back which isn't in that bad of condition, and will include. I have replaced the original back with a perfect Retro-Tronics replacement. It's a small radio at about 9"W x 5-1/2"H x 5"D. |
