THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD! |
I've had a love affair going on with this ivory Bakelite Admiral radio ever since I was a kid! Forget the fact that it has a working clocking radio, too. To me in '53 clock radios weren't cool. It's just the so very futuristic design for the year. 'Course I had no idea what "futuristic" meant. Heck, it was way cooler than a '53 Chevy... but not a Hudson Club Coupe. That Hudson was the only car cooler than this off the wall style radio... in my opinion. A few very minor touch ups here n' there. Anyway, it's been electronically reconditioned with new paper and electrolytic capacitors and all out of tolerance resistors replaced. The five tubes are strong. A Jim Dennis Scale of Beauty #10 "Futuristic Delight" Special! If you'd like additional pictures please let me know. 9-1/4"W x 6-1/2"H x 6"D. |
