THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD! |
"A Silvertone in Every Household" could have been Sear's TV/radio advertising campaign for 1954! Darn near everybody could afford this little radio! A distinctive yet somewhat austere brown Bakelite no-nonsense Silvertone that has four tubes, did not come with a back cover but, it did have a hank of wire for reception so you could "listen" to the radio. Duh? The amazing thing is (in my opinion) this radio is more stylistic and nifty today than is was in '54! Ah, Sears Roebuck did it right for so many decades! I added a new 25-ft hank of antenna wire for local station reception. Electronically reconditioned with new paper and electrolytic capacitors and all out of tolerance resistors replaced. The four tubes are in great shape. A Jim Dennis Scale of Beauty "Sears Roebuck " Special! If you'd like additional pictures please let me know. 9-1/4"W x 5-1/4"H x 4-1/4"D. |
