THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD! |
This is one very beautiful restored example of a 30's small wood Deco radio. The diagonal outer striped veneer walnut with the striking vertical lighter hardwood columns and pedestal give it a very attractive Deco appearance. Western Air Patrol was sold briefly in Western Auto Stores prior to Truetone and unfortunately they were a short lived radio manufacturer. Has a transformer powered four tube TRF chassis with a Local/Distance switch mounted on the rear. Reception is well even for a TRF. The dial is really striking, especially when lit with its brass dial bezel and original dial glass. The knobs are highly polished wood and are recessed into the vertical columns. Just one very Deco radio of the period. Please contact me if more pictures are needed. Click on my Restoration Process for more information. 12"W x 7"H x 8-1/2"D. |
