Airline 62-177 Tombstone (1935)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

This beautiful tombstone is an outstanding example of early radio design by American Craftsman. The burl front and contrasting speaker escutcheon make it very attractive. This 72 year old seven tube radio has both AM and SW (5.75 to 18.3 MHZ) bands. The dial and glass dial cover are original as are the wood knobs. Tuning is accomplished by use of a friction type dial mechanism, thus eliminating the common dial string and performs excellent. Just using a length of wire that I supplied, reception is excellent. It's even better with an external wire antenna. The dial is very attractive when lit as you can see from my pictures. The power cord was replaced with a braided type and a Bakelite plug.
