In the earlier years of radio when battery radios were the only types, Freed Radio of New York made some of the very best. Here is one of the earlier ones they made when AC radios became available. Note the dial is the earlier type with the stations marked 0-100, yet the radio is a six-tube super-het with AVC. True to the company's roots, the radio offered all of sophistication you would expect from a top of the line factory. The radio is in fine condition and the finish is excellent. I have only seen this model a couple of times in the last 40+ years, but believe the speaker cloth is original. The radio plays with a high degree of sensitivity as Les has completed his highly professional repairs. I think the African striped mahogany cabinet with the black grille will an exciting addition to your home and a functional accent as well.
