THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD! |
Here is a tiny and off-brand cathedral radio. Clearly it was designed to be a bedroom type of radio, as it is so small and thus limited in the amount of sound production. The four-tube chassis is all the tiny size cabinet would allow. Often the four tube "minis" were sold in metropolitan areas where there were strong and local stations. These were inexpensive sets and never designed with the oomph to fill a large family room. These radios are AM only without the size and tube count to offer shortwave. Think of tubes like the size of an engine in a car. A four cylinder engine will never produce the juice that a six or eight cylinder can. The condition is all original and extremely fine. Note the fancy embossed wood knobs. Yet this one works pretty well with a long antenna and is even a better player through the mini-jack or Bluetooth receiver add-on available. Les has given the radio his best efforts and it plays remarkably well. His repairs were so exacting he added a cloth cover power cord and new Bakelite plug to replicate the way it came from the factory. Bluetooth is available for an additional $25! 12-3/4"H x 9-1/2"W x 8"D. |
