THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD! |
I did a bit of research of this radio with mixed results. When I saw the dial, my assumption was it was made by Belmont Radio (the sailing ship), but there were radios made in both Detroit and Los Angeles marketed under this name. The radio is a futuristic shape, with a dramatic oversized fan shape multi-colored dial. The radio has been nicely refinished and has replacement period correct speaker cloth. Note there is a tiny hairline crack in the dial. Les has done a fantastic job in his professional repairs and the radio is a fine player. The radio sports a brand new green tuning eye which winks from station to station. The chassis is a six-tube super-het that plays on both AM and Shortwave. Les has added a mini-jack which allows the connection to any modern external input device. With this connection you can choose an unlimited choice of listening pleasure. 15-3/4"W x 9"H x 6-1/2"D. |
