THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD! |
Silvertone made a series of radios to celebrate the exposition in its home town of Chicago in 1933-4. This is one of the more distinctive sets, with ornate use of veneers and embellishments. The deluxe super-het eight-tube chassis was the very best you could buy. The radio is in very nice original condition. The radio was restored by my technician with all new filters and caps. The factory-supplied cord was in such good condition, he has left it. The owners of this spectacular radio obviously cared for it and the radio shows the decades of appreciation. These "World's Fair" radios are double collectibles, as the World Exposition was one of the finest ones of the last century. 18-1/2"H x 14"W x 10-1/4"D. |
