I have always admired Canadian radios. They made superior radios to their American counterparts, with some of the finest cabinet work and uncompromising electronics. The radio is a beautiful set, of contrasting book-matched mahogany veneers. Note the detailed beaded trim around the speaker grille; there was no expense spared in the construction. The chassis is a five-tube dual band receiver. The set is super heavy, as the Canadian government required heavier transformers containing iron. It retains the green crinkle paint, as it left the factory. My technician has done an exacting restoration, and the radio plays great with super selectivity. These sets are seldom available, and this is a very nice example! A real beauty at 14"W x 10H x 7"D. |
