Silvertone 1591 Cathedral (1933)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

Most of you know how dramatic Sears and Roebuck were involved in radio. They recognized that it was revolutionary in the culture and made an early and huge investment in the development. In addition to the world famous WLS clear channel radio station, they marketed a complete line of sets both inside the store and by catalog. They did not make sets for themselves, but contracted a ton of factories to make radios for them. This is one of the better sets they offered in 1933 and clearly made by the high-end maker, Detrola. The radio is in very fine original condition, with all factory parts. My technician has made a complete restoration of this radio. The set has all new filters and caps, and every value has been check for factory fresh values. The radio was fitted with a new power cord and plug for your safety. He did a beautiful job and you will enjoy listening to this radio! 17-1/2"H x 13-1/2"W x 12"D.
