Offered is an outstanding example of Ingraham craftsmanship that was probably done by their more experienced woodworkers. This has been called the "Humpback" and "Pig Snout" but I'd rather refer to it as a precursor to the Eames and Mid-Century era with its rounded corners at top and bottom. The single piece wood grille is a show stopper and is usually showing scrapes and dents; this example is in superb condition, as is the entire case. The whole cabinet is tight and in the nicest cosmetic condition I've seen. The pin striping on the left, top and right sides is totally intact and tight. The stunning and intricate Art Deco dial is excellent, the dial pointer straight with no tarnishing of the metal or flaking of the red paint. The bottom Ingraham label (a $15-20 value alone) is intact and not bent. As for the sound, it's as full and mellow as you'd expect a nearly 80-year old musical wood instrument to be with very nice volume and selectivity and clean sound. An impressive set; you'll be hard pressed to find one in nicer condition. 14-1/2"W x 9-1/2"H x 7"D. |
