THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD! |
Very cool machine age design attributed to John Vassos, a noted American industrial designer. His work with RCA produced their first commercial TV sets, in addition to several other entertainment systems for them. This AM/Shortwave set has a shiny reflective black Bakelite case with matching inset grille and is in near-mint condition as are the contrasting white knobs. No cracks, chips, hairlines, nothing. The step top design contibutes to the overall very linear look, yet the aesthetic curving on the left side compliments it perfectly. It has the original logo, smooth tuning dial and super-clean and complete chassis to make this a quality addition to any collection. Most models had pushbuttons, but I always preferred the cleaner design of the ones without. Non-working, but I believe the resistor cord is the original and it is in as-new condition. The Stein books only list the brown and ivory versions. You will be proud to show this off. |
